Best Neighborhoods in Jacksonville, FL

With over 500 neighborhoods in Jacksonville, FL, it can be challenging to decide which to choose. Among the best neighborhoods in the area are the Northside, Southside, The Beaches, Riverside, San Marco, and Orange Park. Living in Northside is all about location; it's an industrial zone, and this is a friendly residential area. The Southside is another suburb that's popular with families. They love its low crime rate, abundant parks, and reputable schools. The Beaches have several beachside neighborhoods but command the local area's highest prices. Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, and Jacksonville Beach are just some beaches that can attract active residents. Riverside is the most picturesque community in Jacksonville. San Marco is a little slice of Italy in Jacksonville, while Orange Park is an easy 45-minute drive from downtown Jacksonville.

Friendship Fountain in Jacksonville, FL

I looked at renovations at the Friendship Fountain in Jacksonville, FL, online. It's very beautiful. Ronnie Roberts remembers Friendship Fountain fondly from its heyday in the 1960s. When it first opened up, it was incredibly gorgeous. He used to ride his bikes down there while holding the skateboards. If you went up to the top of the pumphouse, he used to carry his skateboards up there and ride them around the conch shell. He said it reminded him of a seashell, a conch shell. Miller Electric's senior project manager smiles as he recalls this childhood experience. And then, he said that if nobody was around, he'd pick up as many quarters as possible to buy a Coke and some crackers. With the renovations, the Friendship Fountain becomes even more extraordinary. It's a must-see location.

David's Bridal Filed For Bankruptcy Protection

Stores in Florida will remain open despite David's Bridal's filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, meaning that brides who bought dresses won't have to rush to find replacement gowns. The company had already revealed Friday that it will let go of slightly over 9,000 employees. David's Bridal operates 17 locations in Florida, including two in Jacksonville, the Jacksonville East, and the Jacksonville South. In a news release, David's Bridal said brick-and-mortar stores and online sales, including through its Pearl platform and vendor marketplace, will remain accessible to brides for their wedding planning needs. The members of Diamond, the company's loyalty program, can continue to earn and redeem points. Also, the company said it intends to honor gift cards, returns, and exchanges. Sadly, this company is closing. Read more.
